Sensory Lunch
Engagement Time
Eating Time
Sensory Lunch is designed to improve your little one’s sense of taste and food related vocabulary such as sweet, savoury, smooth or chewy.
Materials Required
Blindfold A Variety of Foods and Drinks
Method
This activity is based on using a blindfold to cover your little one's eyes and having them guess what they are eating for morning tea; lunch or afternoon tea. Once blindfolded your little one can be given a small sample of their meal and be asked to describe both the texture and flavour of the food before having a guess at what they believe it may be. It would be advisable to start with common foods your little one enjoys before moving on to more exotic fare and to add a small treat into the mix such as a single chocolate drop so that they are looking forward to playing this game again.
