Creative Arts Activities

Creative Arts is an area covered particularly well by pre-schools and kindergartens as it involves Visual Arts, Music, Drama and Dance. ABC Kid helps you to build on your childs natural creativity and have great fun learning through play.

At its most basic level Creative Arts involves responding to a range of stimuli, drawing from experience and imagination to express ideas via a range of media. The most common of these is making pictures and other artworks using the media and materials given, representing both real and imagined situations. Beyond this, children as young as three can begin to appreciate that artists make artworks and they can begin to describe some aspects of art.

By three years of age children are also able to sing, listen to and respond to a variety of music, play a number of basic instruments, experiment with sounds and move to a range of music. At three years of age children are also more than capable of engaging in imaginative role play and can perform dances with some control over body movement.
