Walk In AvairyLocated in Federation Square, Gold Creek Village, the Walk-In Aviary in Canberra is a huge, privately owned walk-in aviary where the staff are friendly and helpful and free flying birds can be observed, photographed and fed in a relaxed and open natural environment.
Admire parrots up close without cages to experience their playful nature and really see the amazing colour in their wings and plumage. We found them a delight to the eyes and they were not shy about coming forward for a sweet treat of apple or meal worms.
The Aviary provides visitors with apple on entry or meal worm at a nominal additional cost and the result is a close up experience with some of the delightful birds even happy to perch on your arm while they munch.
There are over 50 varieties of birds in all, including over 200 Australian parrots and 350 finches. The Walk-in-Aviary will delight young and old with their antics and colour and we found the visit a wonderful way to spend an hour or so with our children.
